How to Cite Print Articles in CSE

In our citation examples we use the following color coding:

  • Red – Author
  • Blue – Title of book/article/charter/webpage
  • Pink – Date
  • Orange – Website/Publisher
  • Turquoise – Place of publication
  • Green – Title of journal
  • Violet – Editor/Translator
  • Black – Volume/Issue
  • Sienna – Pages

Example:

Newspaper article (print version)

Do not abbreviate names of newspapers. If the location is not indicated in the newspaper’s title, it is required to mention it after the title. Instead of volume or issue number, include section info. Also, add column information, if available.

Example:

Mention as much information as possible including author’s (instructor’s) last name and initials, the year, and title of the material/handout was created. It is required to give the institution’s location and the name of the college/facility. (The information in the example below is fictional).
