These people are located in Brazil and across Venezuela. The Yanomami practice the animism religion. They believe animals and plants have spirits inside them. They are led mainly by a shaman who is actually a healer according to them. The Yanomami are basically farmers. The men prepare the planting fields, take care of the crop and reap the yield. They also cook in times of ritual meals. The women are supposed to provide staple foodstuff which is a derivative of manioc. Socially, the men dominate as decision-makers thus wielding more authority than women. The family structure among the Yanomami is by the nuclear system. They live in structures called Yanos.
