- Use of sources. This is one of the most important essay writing rules! Never ignore the citation style your essay should keep to. This may be regarded as plagiarism which is punished even by expulsion in some colleges and universities.
- Use of topic sentences. Each of your new ideas should start with a topic sentence encompassing the ideas which will be presented in the paragraph.
