Principles of the Format of Writing a Chicago Dissertation
There are a lot of format styles of writing papers. Chicago, or Turabian, style is one of them. Some requirements of Chicago writing style are similar to other styles. But also it has some special requirements. Chicago dissertation follows the format, proposed by the University of Chicago Press. Requirements for writing Chicago dissertation are the following.
Margins
Chicago dissertation requires margins format that is common for all styles of writing. Use one-inch margins for all sides of the page.
Font
The format of Chicago dissertation prefers the use of computer program fonts. Times New Romans is the most accessible font. It can be in 10 point or 12 point size. But you can also use 12 sized Arial. A font depends on the preferences of your instructor.
Spacing
Chicago dissertation requires double-spacing for the main text. But quotations, footnotes, and heading should be single-spaced.
Number of pages
There are special instructions for page numbering of Chicago dissertation. So-called “display” pages must be numerated with low Roman numbers in the centre of the bottom of the pages. Those pages include a blank page and contents. Use Arabic numbers for the main pages of your Chicago dissertation. Numbers must be placed in the upper-right corner.
Title
The title of Chicago dissertation must be placed in the centre of the title page. All notional words must be capitalized in the title. Write the title, your name, and your instructor’s name.The date in Chicago dissertation can be formatted in two ways:

- Write the month and date, and then after a comma put the year.
